Camp Takajo Director
Jeffrey A. Konigsberg
Camp Takajo's owner and director, Jeffrey A. Konigsberg, first came to Camp Takajo as a nine year old camper in 1970. Jeff's father attended Takajo as one of the camp's first campers in 1947. Jeff was an eight year camper. He returned to Camp Takajo as a basketball counselor. As a college student and member of the Lehigh University men’s NCAA basketball team, Jeff was the Junior Group leader
, then the Senior Group leader. Upon graduation, Jeff became the camp's Associate Director in 1983, working full-time for the camp's founder, Morty Goldman. Jeff purchased the camp in August 1988 from Morty. Jeff is currently a board member of the New England section of the American Camping Association and a member of the Maine Youth Camping Association. In these roles, Jeff is actively promoting a better summer camping environment for the entire camping community. Jeff’s experience and care in working with children has continued the Takajo tradition of excellence in the camping industry.
